Some professional burglars prefer to victimize commercial property as opposed to private homes because when it is a store, they know the inside of it and exactly how to get around it/ where everything is. This makes the act much simpler. This also gives them an idea of exactly how much the merchandise is worth from price tags, so they know how much they can resell for. The burglars also have a chance to see if or what kind of security system there is in the store. Some reasons why a burglar would hit the same target more that once are : it takes less effort to break into a  home that you already know around and know it is easy to do and escape routes are well known. They know what items are in the place that they can steal that they might not have been able to take the first time. Some techniques that  burglars generally use to best accomplish the breaking and enter are things such as learning the many skills needed to commit the crimes, such a gaining entry into the place, selecting the best targets, taking the best items for resale, obtaining the proper equipment needed. Another is being able to form a team/ criminal gang with trustworthy companions for a successful job. They must have the right information of what awaits them inside the building.  And lastly they must have buyers for the stolen merchandise that they know are reliable to get rid of it. They must know how to successfully gain profit.
